  • Bill Gates' success wasn't a complete function of his own merit.  He was extremely luck in so far as he had extreme opportunity and luck available to him. In 1969, he has unlimited access as a teenager to a computer terminal that is available to less than a dozen other kids. 
  • It takes 10,000 hours of work in an area to gain the expertise to become great.  That 10,000 hours takes roughly 10 years.
